Beara Peninsula (4/12/2017)

After a wonderful Irish breakfast at the Whispering Pines B&B, we headed to the Beara Peninsula. Driving south across the base of the peninsula from Kenmare, we reached the outskirts of Glengarriff and walked around in the Glengarriff Woods Nature Preserve.

We spontaneously decided to take a short boat trip to Garinish Island, which has some beautiful gardens and stunning views of Bantry Bay.

On the boat to Garinish Island, we saw lots of seals (see picture).

There were many beautiful views. Here is one.

Driving back, we went through Healy Pass, which was beautiful, but very curve-y and narrow. Here’s a view from near the top of the pass.

That night, we had dinner at O’Donnabhan’s in Kenmare – more great food, beer, and music.
